BlueDesks Corporate LLC, doing business as ELC ("ELC," "we," "us," or "our"), is responsible for the personal information described in this Policy. This Policy explains how we collect, use, share, retain, and protect information when you use our websites or communities, register for or attend our events, or otherwise interact with us.
A particular activity may have an additional notice or choice. For ELC Annual 2026, registration, any disclosure of a pre-event sponsor list, and a voluntary badge scan at a sponsor booth are separate activities. A choice about one activity does not automatically authorize another.
We collect information you provide when you register for or attend an event, create or update an account, contact us, take part in a survey, or participate in a community. Depending on the activity, this may include your name, email address, company, job title, professional interests, registration and attendance details, and information you choose to include in a message or profile. Our registration and payment providers may process additional transaction information needed to complete a ticket purchase; their handling of that information is also described in their own notices.
We may use publicly available professional profiles and company websites to verify or update the company and job title you provided. To invite people to join our communities, we may also obtain professional contact information from public sources or organizations that compile such information. We assess the source, permitted uses, and any notice required before using information obtained indirectly. Public availability or acquisition from another source does not itself authorize sponsor marketing.
When you use our websites, our systems and service providers may receive technical information such as an IP address, the date and time of a request, and browser and device information. We use this information to operate and secure our websites, diagnose problems, and understand site performance.
We use Google Analytics to assess website traffic, page views, where visits come from, and how our campaigns and event pages perform. We use Hotjar to understand patterns in how visitors interact with pages, such as clicks, scrolling, and mouse movement, so we can improve the site experience. We use the resulting reports to evaluate overall website performance; we do not use browsing activity alone to identify a visitor by name. Depending on the tools and settings, their collection may involve cookies or similar browser identifiers and information about individual visits before results are presented in aggregate reports. Google and Hotjar may receive information through their tools as described in their applicable notices.
You can use browser settings to limit or delete cookies, although doing so may affect some website functions. You may also contact us at [email protected] with a question or objection about website analytics. We review requests and provide any additional choices required by applicable law.
We use personal information to provide requested events and services; manage registration, attendance, accounts, and payments; respond to inquiries; maintain accurate professional records; operate and secure our websites and communities; communicate about ELC activities; and offer relevant professional connections. We may send operational messages needed for an event or service even if you opt out of promotional emails.
Where the GDPR or similar law requires a legal basis, we generally rely on performance of our agreement with you to administer a requested event or service; legitimate interests, subject to the required assessment of individual rights, for security, accurate records, appropriate community operations, and website improvement where permitted; consent for a particular disclosure or marketing activity when required; and legal obligations where we must process information by law. Website analytics may also be subject to separate rules about storing or accessing information on a visitor’s device. We assess those requirements for the relevant technology and visitor location.
You can stop ELC promotional emails by using the unsubscribe instructions in those messages or by contacting [email protected]. An ELC message that mentions a sponsor does not, by itself, mean ELC gave that sponsor your contact information.
Our current event partners are listed at https://sfelc.com/annual2026#partners. The list may change. Being listed as a sponsor does not mean that ELC provides that sponsor with every attendee’s information, and adding a sponsor later does not expand a choice you made earlier.
At ELC Annual 2026, you may choose to allow a sponsor to scan your badge at its booth. Our check-in information explains that, if you voluntarily allow a scan, ELC or its event platform may share your name, email address, company, and job title with the sponsor scanning your badge. That sponsor may use the information to follow up about its products, services, and events, including by email for marketing, subject to applicable law and its own privacy notice. Sponsor staff will ask before scanning. Scan records may also include the scan time, the scanning staff member, and notes entered by sponsor staff. You may decline a scan and still attend the main event.
Registration, check-in, or acceptance of event terms alone does not authorize a sponsor to use your information for its own marketing; a separate, optional sponsor-marketing choice, if offered, applies only within its stated scope. We keep records of sponsor-sharing choices and related disclosures as needed to administer those choices and demonstrate the permissions on which we rely. When we rely on a voluntary badge scan as permission, we document the attendee, the sponsor, the scan time, and the version of the check-in information that explained the sharing.
Some event arrangements may involve a pre-event list limited to attendee company names and job titles, or information associated with a separately sponsored activity. These disclosures are separate from voluntary booth badge scans. We do not include attendee names or email addresses in the pre-event company-and-title list. Before providing any such information, we assess whether it can identify an individual and whether the proposed disclosure and use are permitted under applicable law and the relevant sponsor agreement. Where a disclosure requires attendee notice, permission, or consent that we have not provided or obtained, we will not make that disclosure in that form. A later booth scan does not authorize an earlier disclosure.
